Installation

🔴 Difficult — expect about 2 hours and only for experienced repairers. Virtually full disassembly required: P5 Pentalobe (bottom case), T5 Torx (internal screws), spudger and anti-static wristband mandatory. Battery, display cable, trackpad, keyboard flex, fan, SSD and all connectors must be disconnected before the board comes out. Note: RAM is soldered, no memory upgrade possible. The board is paired to macOS — a previously created FileVault recovery key may not work after replacement; iCloud Keychain may need re-activation.

No. Logic board 820-4924-A is specific to Early 2015 (MF839/MF840/MF841/MF843). Earlier A1502 years use different board numbers and CPUs.

Will Touch ID and FileVault recovery still work after replacement?
